Comrade Wilson a sore loser?

The Vindicator seems to think so.

Link here.

My biggest beef with Comrade Wilson was his spending / voting habits. He voted to spend money when he knew we did not have it....causing us to borrow (issue T-bills) against our children's income.

Normal citizens go to jail when they write bad checks, but not Congressmen.

3 points for future posts:

  1. Kill the Federal Reserve!!!
  2. We need to attach our money to some sort of standard (gold, silver, basket of commodities, etc). This way, the politicians, can't print their way out of debt......causing inflation. Decreasing the value of your money (inflation) while paying off debts with the same currency is stealing.
  3. We need a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. (this one has to be last, because it would be irrelevant if the Fed can just print more money.)

Just how dumb are we?

Why is it that Chevy, Dodge or Ford have to have a tough guy sell their tucks? They always have someone with a very deep voice talking about "guy" stuff. (whatever happened to the word "men" btw?, "guy" seems rather French to me).

Why can't they just say, this is how much this truck will pull or haul, this is the tire sizes available and here are the different engine options?

They have to show a picture of a crane dropping a load into the back of a truck fro 20 feet up. Like this is what we do in the real world.

Or we have Craftsman trying to sell us tools. Do they really think we are gullible enough to put up with some male model (who is prettier than most women) turning a bolt or nut the wrong way in a commercial and think that this will make us want to buy a tool from them?

Now we have soap commercials for men. Unbelievable. We now have our own special soap. I still can't get over men who wear cologne. Apparently some advertising campaign in the past got some men past the normal revulsion of wearing perfume like a woman.

My point is, these advertisements must work.........even if the do offend those that mostly use these products. Disregard the male perfume for this last sentence.

This brings me to my main point. Comrade Charlie Wilson.

The deficit spending, debt increasing 6th District mistake of a Congressman.

He just sent out an email to subscribers telling us that he is worried about our national debt. The debt that he voted into existence, no less.

I'm afraid we'll fall for this deception for two reasons.

  1. We've proven that we will fall for anything, as described above
  2. No one pays attention to the actions of politicians. We listen to their slick words. They are usually divergent.
Here's his words on the deficit that he has saddled us and our children with:

"Dear Friend,

I share the concerns that many Americans have about our country’s financial future. With escalating spending and a growing national debt, there is a legitimate concern about how we begin to correct our economic course. I take tackling our debt very seriously, and I know you do too. I want to hear what you think we should do to reign in our national deficit. Where do you think we need to save and where should we spend? I hope you'll take a moment to complete this three question survey."

Here's what you can do Charlie. Resign now. You created this debt and now you want to pretend to fix it to help your re-election chances.

Voter, here is what you can do to get rid of people like Comrade Charlie:

Charlie Wilson votes to continue deficit spending without a budget

Going along with his apparent belief that he knows better than the voters: Comrade Charlie Wilson votes to keep up his rate of spending this country out of existence. This time by voting to keep up the massive spending without even voting on a budget.

Rather than making the tough choices (which he's incapable of) of cutting spending, he votes to "deem a bill passed". This lets him keep spending without a vote on the actual budget.

This guy needs to go.

Charlie Wilson strikes again

Here a Dispatch story about the rising cost of health care. The increased cost to Ohio tax payers (this is just the first quantifiable hit we are going to see) is $1,450,000,000.

This is due to our new socialized medicine bill that Comrade Charlie Wilson voted for.

Charlie Wilson's debt

The author of this Forbes.com story gets it. Charlie Wilson with his obama supporting votes have increase the debt on our children exponentially.

"Since our overleveraged economy was the cause of the great recession, how can we avoid going into a double-dip recession if leverage is still being added?"

Charlie Wislon's inflation is on the way!

Charlies' national debt is now at $12,500,000,000.

Here's a story about the upcoming inflation. Yes, we can thank Congressman Charlie Wilson for this as he's supported every deficit spending bill President Barry has proposed.

Schlafly: Health Care Vote Set to Expose the Myth of the 'Pro-Life Democrat'

One could think of our congresscritter Charlie Wilson when reading this. However, no one really believes he was ever pro-life. He just mouthed the words when we was running for congress.

Schlafly: Health Care Vote Set to Expose the Myth of the 'Pro-Life Democrat'

Ohio Right to Life press release

Nine Ohio Members of Congress Vote for Pro-Abortion Health Care Bill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Mike Gonidakis
DATE: Monday, March 21, 2010 PHONE: (614) 547-0099 ext. 301

On Sunday, March 21, 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 219 to 212 to pass H.R. 3590, the pro-abortion Senate Health Care bill. Nine Ohio Members of Congress voted in favor of this pro-abortion bill - thus providing the votes necessary for its passage. They are: Steve Driehaus; Charlie Wilson; Marcy Kaptur; Dennis Kucinich; Marcia Fudge; Betty Sutton; Mary Jo Kilroy; John Boccieri; and Tim Ryan.

Although President Obama agreed to issue an Executive Order supposedly preventing abortion funding under the bill in order to obtain the votes of some of these legislators, the Executive Order will not prevent the pro-abortion effects of the bill. As National Right to Life stated:

"The executive order promised by President Obama was issued for political effect. It changes nothing. It does not correct any of the serious pro-abortion provisions in the bill. The president cannot amend a bill by issuing an order, and the federal courts will enforce what the law says."

The view that the Executive Order will not correct the pro-abortion problems with the bill was also confirmed by legal experts consulted by the U.S. Catholic Conference and Americans United for Life.
"It is particularly infuriating that some of the Ohio Representatives who voted for this bill purport to be pro-life," said Mike Gonidakis, Executive Director of Ohio Right to Life. "Whether they were duped by the executive order or merely trying to give themselves 'political cover,' all of these Ohio Members of Congress are responsible for the largest expansion of federal support for abortion since Roe v. Wade. Pro-lifers should repeatedly make clear to them that their vote for this pro-abortion bill was a huge political and moral mistake and will not be forgotten." Gonidakis said.

Persons wishing to express their disappointment at their vote can contact these Representatives at the following numbers:

John Bocceri (202) 225-3876 or (330) 489-4414
Steve Driehaus (202) 225-2216 or (513) 684-2723
Marcia Fudge (202) 225-7032 or (216) 522-4900
Marcy Kaptur (202) 225-4146 or (800) 964-4699
Dennis Kucinich (202) 225-5871 or (216) 228-8850
Mary Jo Kilroy (202) 225-2015 or (614) 294-2196
Tim Ryan (202) 225-5261 or (330) 740-0193
Betty Sutton (202) 225-3401 or (330) 865-8450
Charles Wilson (202) 225-5705 or (740) 633-5705
Sincerely,
Ohio Right to Life

Charlie Wilson: Who's to blame for this pro-abortion "health care bill"??

When he votes for this bill, he will "own it" just as much as barry does.

All he has to do is vote no. But he won't. He's tied at the hip with our embarrassment in chief to grow a back bone of his own and vote to protect his district from this monstrous, debt increasing, states rights infringing, baby killing bill.

Charlie Wilson is no "conservative pro-life democrat". He will vote exactly like Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco.

He will be voting to use your tax money to kill babies. What has our country come to when our representative can justify killing innocent babies because he thinks this bill has some good things in it. I say "he thinks" because he hasn't read it. No one has had time to read it. Yet, he'll vote for it.

He is going to vote for a bill that is unconstitutional. No where is this allowed in the constitution. The 10th Amendment specifically denies it. He swore to uphold the constitution, yet he is going to lie to us with this one vote.

He is going to force young people to pay thousands for health insurance, even though this is one group that does not need it. It's a choice that needs left up to individuals, not government. Then if folks don't get insurance, they'll pay a fine. The fine will be small enough that many will just pay the fine rather than the thousands for the privilege of being in a government run health care system. Then, when these people that don't get insurance do get sick, they can just start paying premiums and get their sickness taken care of. No insurance will be able to deny them insurance due to the law (Wilson will vote for) which will not let people with "pre-existing" conditions be denied insurance. HMM... this is going to save money how???

I could go on. This can be summed up with this: Bad bill + horrible representation = bad law.

Ohio Congressman Charlie Wilson to vote for pro abortion "health care" bill

One has to assume this since he voted for the original House bill and is not on record of opposing the Senate's bill.

CNN does not have him listed as a "NO" vote.

The Senate bill will allow tax payer funded abortions. Apparently our Congressman Wilson thinks killing babies is OK?

Thanks Congressman Charlie Wilson. You are spending us into debt faster than any time in our history.

My kids really appreciate the debt they'll have to pay back, because of you!

Scrooge was the good guy

Here's a Mises.org story telling us that it was Scrooge and his ilk that actually improved the lives of many poor folks.

It's pure greed that makes us lust after other's money. The fact that the object of the envy has more money than you doesn't make it any less envious.

Pretty sure it's one of the 10 Commandments.

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s."

AND if that one doesn't get it, this one sure does. Ohio's state government needs to read this, because they just stole from us!

Thou shalt not steal.

However, today, along with their constituents, politicians want to confiscate the "fat cats on Wall Street" for making money. This when we have no right to that money.

No wonder Comrade Wilson votes the way he does, I'm beginning to think his constituents are socialists too!

"Beam me up" to run for Congress again...maybe

Let's hope it's in the 6th.

He'd be a better Congressman than Comrade Charlie Wilson.

Here are my thoughts on him running in the 6th in a previous post.

Congressman Wilson was right!

Joe Wilson, that is.

Remember when Congressman Joe Wilson yelled "you lie" to obama?

Well, of course, he was correct.

Here's the latest lie.

Remember obama's promise to not to sign bills with earmarks included in them?

Here you go, 5,224 earmarks.

Wilson's latest "pat-on-the-back" "news" release

Nothing new here. Just more welfare and wasteful spending that we've all become accustomed to from our Congressman Charlie Wilson.

$600,000 for solar panels in Athens. What I'd really like to know is, how long will it take for these solar panels to pay back this $600,000? And, even if it paid off the day after they are installed, what section of the US Constitution grants the federal government the right to use our money in this manner?

Wouldn't it be better (of course it would) to just let us all keep our own money and we'll create a free economy without government boondoggles like this?

Of course, our congressman would not have anything to brag about if we just took care of ourselves, would he?

One more thing Comrade Wilson. Printing money and throwing it around is not at all helpful. Not even in the short run. Printing more money just devalues the dollar by the same amount printed. There is no new value added. Just more...less valued paper money. At the end of the day, nothing is accomplished except to wreck our currency by your huge debt.

One more thing in addition to the last one more thing: Do you know what "renovate 60 units of affordable housing" means. It means it's not yours. We are going to confiscate money from you and give it to someone that meets some sort of arbitrary government induced and invented threshold. It all comes down to using your money to give to folks that will vote for democrats. In other words, vote buying.

"Dear Friends,

Today I had the opportunity to announce multiple projects in Ohio and the 6th District being funded by the Recovery Act. Both the Ohio Department of Development and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency have released nearly $37 million for rebates and projects across the state.

According to the Ohio Department of Development, the U.S. Department of Energy has approved Ohio’s proposal to use $11 million in Recovery Act funds for the Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program. This program is meant to increase sales of energy efficient appliances, specifically ENERGY STAR qualified products.

Starting in 2010, you and other Ohio consumers can take advantage of significant rebates on ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and water heaters.

These rebates will help replace over 89,000 outdated, inefficient appliances across the state of Ohio. By significantly lowering our energy and water consumption, we will also be able to lower people’s electric bills—something we can all appreciate.

Additionally, $13 million in Recovery Act funds are going to the State of Ohio’s Energy Program. Specifically, Solar Vision LLC in Athens County is set to receive $631,637. The funding will go toward installing solar panels on four carport structures in the parking lot of the Athens City Community Center.

The construction of these solar panels will create jobs, create energy, and lower costs for the residents of Athens. That’s good for our economy both short-term and long-term. I’m glad to see Recovery Act funds supporting renewable energy.

Finally, According to the Ohio Finance Agency, the State of Ohio is set to receive $13 million dollars in Recovery Act funds to build and improve existing affordable housing units. Within Ohio’s Sixth District, Plains Plaza in Athens County will be awarded $2,013,934 in Tax Credit Exchange (TCE) financing to rehabilitate 60 units of affordable housing.

I’m pleased to see the range of projects being funneled into my district by the Recovery Act. These funds continue to put us on the right track to financial growth and stability.

Sincerely,

Charlie Wilson
Member of Congress
Ohio's Sixth District"

Comrade Wilson speaks, and it's not pretty

"Though this war has been going on for almost a decade, this is the first time we will be investing the resources needed to finally eradicate the very real terrorist threats in the region."

Congressman Charlie Wilson, 12/2/09

So, we haven't been giving enough resources to Afghanistan in the past? This is the first time I've heard him say this. Why wasn't he using his influence to change this perceived policy failure? Why is he just now realizing this? Comrade Wilson has been in Congress since 2006 and this is the first time he's discovered this fantasy? Why wasn't he pushing for more troops in Afghanistan in the past? Or is it no more than he's reading the obama talking points that were handed to him? That's probably more like it.

From the Marietta Register

Wilson Issues Statement Following President's Afghanistan Address

December 2, 2009

After listening to the President outline his plan for Afghanistan, Congressman Charlie Wilson (OH-6) made the following statement:

"I support the President’s strategy as we move forward with the War in Afghanistan. I trust our Commander in Chief, General McChrystal and our military professionals out in the field. If they need additional support, I feel it is our duty to provide our soldiers with the tools they need to stay safe and achieve success. I believe the President outlined an effective strategy to stabilize Afghanistan and set a reasonable timeline to get our troops back home. No doubt our tactics will adjust as conditions change, but the President’s speech underlined the continued danger of an unstable Afghanistan. Though this war has been going on for almost a decade, this is the first time we will be investing the resources needed to finally eradicate the very real terrorist threats in the region. I feel confident that this strategy was made with our nation’s long-term security in mind."

Barry Orwell

Orwellian talk is alive and well.

obama says he created OR saved (you can't qualify this, so you can put any number you want after "saved") 1 million jobs.

However, the unemployment rate is the highest it's been in 26 years @ 9.8%. Remember, this 9.8% is just the number of people on unemployment. It does not count those that have "timed out" of our socialist system. Some speculate that the real number of unemployed is around 25%.

So, I can say, with a straight face (since the media is letting barry do it) that I saved 20 jobs yesterday. No, you can't measure it and I can't prove it. However, it sure works when bad unemployment numbers come out and I can use this to deflect some of the criticism....with, of course, the lap dog media.

When the stories should be about verifiable unemployment numbers increasing. The media use barry's spoon fed story about creating or saving jobs as a headline, then put the real story buried deep in this story about unemployment rising. Even Fox News fell for this one.

On another note, how did barry "save" these jobs? Put it in a different but still accurate perspective. What would you think if I stole $25,000 from you and gave it to others (you know, my friends and supporters) and called it "saving" jobs. That's exactly what Charlie Wilson and our mistake in chief has done to you and your kids / grandchildren. We'll be paying for his payoff of his supporters with your money for generations.

Extending the Recession Indefinitely

Mises.org story here

"Subsidize unemployment: Any subsidization of unemployment (via unemployment 'insurance,' relief, etc.) will prolong unemployment indefinitely, and delay the shift of workers to the fields where jobs are available.""
