Wilson's latest "pat-on-the-back" "news" release

Nothing new here. Just more welfare and wasteful spending that we've all become accustomed to from our Congressman Charlie Wilson.

$600,000 for solar panels in Athens. What I'd really like to know is, how long will it take for these solar panels to pay back this $600,000? And, even if it paid off the day after they are installed, what section of the US Constitution grants the federal government the right to use our money in this manner?

Wouldn't it be better (of course it would) to just let us all keep our own money and we'll create a free economy without government boondoggles like this?

Of course, our congressman would not have anything to brag about if we just took care of ourselves, would he?

One more thing Comrade Wilson. Printing money and throwing it around is not at all helpful. Not even in the short run. Printing more money just devalues the dollar by the same amount printed. There is no new value added. Just more...less valued paper money. At the end of the day, nothing is accomplished except to wreck our currency by your huge debt.

One more thing in addition to the last one more thing: Do you know what "renovate 60 units of affordable housing" means. It means it's not yours. We are going to confiscate money from you and give it to someone that meets some sort of arbitrary government induced and invented threshold. It all comes down to using your money to give to folks that will vote for democrats. In other words, vote buying.

"Dear Friends,

Today I had the opportunity to announce multiple projects in Ohio and the 6th District being funded by the Recovery Act. Both the Ohio Department of Development and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency have released nearly $37 million for rebates and projects across the state.

According to the Ohio Department of Development, the U.S. Department of Energy has approved Ohio’s proposal to use $11 million in Recovery Act funds for the Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program. This program is meant to increase sales of energy efficient appliances, specifically ENERGY STAR qualified products.

Starting in 2010, you and other Ohio consumers can take advantage of significant rebates on ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and water heaters.

These rebates will help replace over 89,000 outdated, inefficient appliances across the state of Ohio. By significantly lowering our energy and water consumption, we will also be able to lower people’s electric bills—something we can all appreciate.

Additionally, $13 million in Recovery Act funds are going to the State of Ohio’s Energy Program. Specifically, Solar Vision LLC in Athens County is set to receive $631,637. The funding will go toward installing solar panels on four carport structures in the parking lot of the Athens City Community Center.

The construction of these solar panels will create jobs, create energy, and lower costs for the residents of Athens. That’s good for our economy both short-term and long-term. I’m glad to see Recovery Act funds supporting renewable energy.

Finally, According to the Ohio Finance Agency, the State of Ohio is set to receive $13 million dollars in Recovery Act funds to build and improve existing affordable housing units. Within Ohio’s Sixth District, Plains Plaza in Athens County will be awarded $2,013,934 in Tax Credit Exchange (TCE) financing to rehabilitate 60 units of affordable housing.

I’m pleased to see the range of projects being funneled into my district by the Recovery Act. These funds continue to put us on the right track to financial growth and stability.

Sincerely,

Charlie Wilson
Member of Congress
Ohio's Sixth District"

athens county democrat ethics III

Here's another episode in the Athens County democrat ethics scandals. This time paying $5 per vote if voter is from the 4th ward in Athens.

I'm attaching links and don't have time to comment right now....too busy working....someone has to pay for all of societies' leaches.

The Ohio GOP press release about this issue below:

For Immediate Release Contact: John McClelland
(614) 394-3456
(Columbus) - Ohio Republican Party Chairman Kevin DeWine called today on Gov. Ted Strickland to demand the resignation of his Athens County Democratic Party chair amid allegations of vote fraud.

The Athens Post reports the party is under investigation for "scheming to pay Ohio University students $5 for each 4th Ward resident brought to the polls for early voting," prompting questions about whether money was being exchanged for votes.

According to the Athens Post, prosecutor Dave Warren said, "I think it smells like the Democrats are trying to buy an election."

Party Chair Susan Gwinn was recently indicted by a grand jury for money laundering and theft in office.

"Gov. Strickland said he would enforce a higher standard, so he should start by demanding the resignation of his corrupt Athens County chair," said DeWine. "The governor talks a big game when it comes to cleaning up his own house, but, unfortunately, he'll probably turn a blind eye to the alleged fraud in Athens County just like he's done with the scandal in Cuyahoga County."

Strickland has been silent on Gwinn's indictment, and he has refused to call for the resignation of two Cuyahoga County commissioners targeted in an FBI corruption probe, which has also implicated the treasurer of the Ohio Democratic Party.

"Whether it's allegations of vote fraud in Athens or corruption in Cleveland, Ted Strickland is all talk and no action. It's kind of like saying you're going to turn around Ohio's economy but then losing 340,000 jobs."
