Abortionist Tiller dead
Why is his death more noteworthy than all of those that he killed?
Where's the outrage when voiceless innocents are killed? Where is the hand wringing and worrying when we abort babies everyday? Complete silence.
Pravda knows where socialism leads: their warning
Here's a story about the end result of Charlie Wilson and Obama's policies. The communist elites living in luxury while the rest starve.

Oxymoron, a paid "volunteer"
Paying people to volunteer sounds strange. It's more like paying people to do government approved odd jobs.
We'd be much better off if our government would quit spending us into a debt hole and lower our taxes. We can create our own jobs when the government does not take the incentives away.
Of course, Charlie Wilson wants to give incentives to grow government, not private enterprise.

EnviroNazis can't make bail, still in jail
Blogger at From on High has these comments, comments that I don't need to add to as many of southeastern Ohio job seekers feel the same way.
"Now, This Should Break Your Heart
Boo. Freaking. Hoo.
Actions have consequences, children. You want to save the planet by denying the only jobs those miners have available to them? You'll be doing it from a jail cell, sweetheart. Hopefully, for a long, long time.
Heck, if we're lucky, it'll keep you from going back to that badminton major you're pursuing over at Virginia Tech.
Now that's Mountain Justice."
Link to story here....from EuroNews24.org no less.
"BEAVER, W.Va. - Environmental group Mountain Justice says six people arrested on trespassing charges during a coal mining protest are still jailed.
The group said Sunday the six have been unable to raise $2,000 cash apiece to make bail.
All six were arrested a day earlier at Richmond, Va.-based Massey Energy Co.'s Marfork Coal mining complex in Pettus. Mountain Justice says they were protesting Massey's plan to blast at the mine.
Mountain Justice and a group called Climate Ground Zero say blasting could cause a coal slurry dam at the site to collapse.
The arrests are the latest in a string of approximately a half-dozen trespassing incidents at Massey mines in West Virginia this year.
Massey operates mines in West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia."

RINO Powell
"He is pro-choice regarding abortion, and in favor of "reasonable" gun control.[47] He stated in his autobiography that he supports affirmative action that levels the playing field, without giving a leg up to undeserving persons because of racial issues. Powell was also instrumental in the implementation of the military's Don't ask, don't tell policy."
But he wants the GOP to follow his lead. Why not have 2 socialist parties after all? Now we have one socialist party and one socialist lite.
If the GOP does what he wants, the Libertarians and Constitution Parties will make a lot of head way with conservatives.
Now, at least the GOP pretends to be conservative....while they need the conservative votes......then govern like democrats after the conservatives elect them....having a hard time getting Bob Taft, George Voinovich, Mike Dewine, Arlen Specter, Olympia Snow etc, etc, out of my mind.

Ohio's jobless rate tops 10 percent for first time in quarter-century
Does it surprise you that the media refuses to lay this mess at Strickland's feet, where it belongs?
We need to cut taxes and spur economic development in Ohio.....of course it's difficult for the dems to play the class warfare card if all their voters have jobs.
Previous post on Ohio's high taxes.

Ohio Highway Patrol has issues with just enforcing the law
Remember awhile back their opposition to the concealed carry law gave Governor Taft cover for not signing the bill for quite some time?
http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-27604.html
"Since taking office in 1998, Taft, a Republican, has opposed concealed weapons bills introduced in two sessions of the Legislature. He said he could not support any bill that was opposed by law enforcement groups.
The Fraternal Order of Police, the state's largest police union, and the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association, whose members would issue the permits, previously dropped their opposition.
However, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police have remained opposed."
The Patrol finally dropped their opposition to the bill (after it was extremely watered down) and they then allowed Governor Taft to sign the bill.
Now they are against raising the speed limit on rural highways.
nbci4.com story here
Don't we (the citizens of Ohio) elect State Representatives and Senators to represent us? They are the lawmakers on our behalf. Then law enforcement (which the Highway Patrol is part of) enforces the laws that the general assembly passes and the Governor signs.
However, lately anyway, it seems the Ohio Highway Patrol wants to make the laws also. This seems highly....unseemly.

Obama asks for greater understanding as debate rages around Notre Dame
Dispatch story here.
This reminds me of another great American thinker, Rodney King. (Can we all just get along?)
Trying to change the subject and making abortion one of those "you have your opinion and I have mine" sort of like, rooting for the Browns over the Bengals.
50,000,000 abortions, choices, dead children so far and counting. Yet, he wants to talk and talk and talk.
Shame on Notre Dame.
*Not sure if Notre Dame has any honor to bestow, after this travesty.

EnviroNazis in Columbus trashing Meigs jobs
Students Send Window-Washing Wakeup Call to Ohio Utility
Students living off Dad and Mom's paychecks trying to keep the unemployed in Meigs County....unemployed.Another Strickland mistake
This is the type of individual that Gov. Ted Strickland appoints to our Department of Development? And he can't pay his own taxes?
This guy makes $128,356 per year and he can't pay his own taxes? Obama should hire him to assist our other tax cheat, now in charge of the IRS, no less.....Treasury Secretary Geitner.
"The governor was not personally told until this week, Wurst said."
Not (allegedly) knowing is not an excuse. Strickland should have known, that's part of his job.
This tells us one of two things about Ted Strickland:
- He pays no attention to character when he makes appointments to run the peoples' business.
- He has such low esteem of the Department of Development that he thinks someone that can't take care of their own business can take care of the DOD's business.

Barry's SA
"President Barack Obama's Listening Tour is rolling into Marietta Thursday evening. A representative from the Columbus branch of Organizing For America will be visiting the area at 7o'clock Thursday evening."
Weren't these types called the SA in the 30's in Germany?
Organizing for America website. This is sort of scary. Am I the only one that finds this rather creepy? How long before one of Barry's "community organizers" report you to the Gestapo for reading your Bible?
Below is a story from historyplace.com on the rise of Hitler. Keeping in mind the 2008 presidential election, if this doesn't give you a jolt, nothing will.
Read this:
Adolf Hitler and the Nazis waged a modern whirlwind campaign in 1930 unlike anything ever seen in Germany. Hitler traveled the country delivering dozens of major speeches, attending meetings, shaking hands, signing autographs, posing for pictures, and even kissing babies.
Joseph Goebbels brilliantly organized thousands of meetings, torchlight parades, plastered posters everywhere and printed millions of copies of special editions of Nazi newspapers.
Germany was in the grip of the Great Depression with a population suffering from poverty, misery, and uncertainty, amid increasing political instability.
For Hitler, the master speech maker, the long awaited opportunity to let loose his talents on the German people had arrived. He would find in this downtrodden people, an audience very willing to listen. In his speeches, Hitler offered the Germans what they needed most, encouragement. He gave them heaps of vague promises while avoiding the details. He used simple catchphrases, repeated over and over.
His campaign appearances were carefully staged events. Audiences were always kept waiting, deliberately letting the tension increase, only to be broken by solemn processions of Brownshirts with golden banners, blaring military music, and finally the appearance of Hitler amid shouts of "Heil!" The effect in a closed in hall with theatrical style lighting and decorations of swastikas was overwhelming and very catching.
Hitler began each speech in low, hesitating tones, gradually raising the pitch and volume of his voice then exploding in a climax of frenzied indignation. He combined this with carefully rehearsed hand gestures for maximum effect. He skillfully played on the emotions of the audience bringing the level of excitement higher and higher until the people wound up a wide-eyed, screaming, frenzied mass that surrendered to his will and looked upon him with pseudo-religious adoration.
Hitler offered something to everyone; work to the unemployed, prosperity to failed business people, profits to industry, expansion to the Army, social harmony and an end of class distinctions to idealistic young students, and restoration of German glory to those in despair. He promised to bring order amid chaos, a feeling of unity to all and the chance to belong. He would make Germany strong again, end payment of war reparations to the Allies, tear up the treaty of Versailles, stamp out corruption, keep down Marxism, and deal harshly with the Jews.
He appealed to all classes of Germans. The name of the Nazi party itself was deliberately all inclusive - the National Socialist German Workers' Party.
All of the Nazis, from Hitler, down to the leader of the smallest city block, worked tirelessly, relentlessly, to pound their message into the minds of the Germans.
On election day September 14, 1930, the Nazis received 6,371,000 votes, over eighteen percent of the total, and were thus entitled to 107 seats in the German Reichstag. It was a stunning victory for Hitler. Overnight, the Nazi party went from the smallest to the second largest party in Germany.
It propelled Hitler to solid national and international prestige and aroused the curiosity of the world press. He was besieged with interview requests. Foreign journalists wanted to know - what did he mean - tear up the Treaty of Versailles and end war reparations? - and that Germany wasn't responsible for the first World War?
Gone was the Charlie Chaplin image of Hitler as the laughable fanatic behind the Beer Hall Putsch. The beer hall revolutionary had been replaced by the skilled manipulator of the masses.
On October 13, 1930, dressed in their brown shirts, the elected Nazi deputies marched in unison into the Reichstag and took their seats. When the roll call was taken, each one shouted, "Present! Heil Hitler!"
They had no intention of cooperating with the democratic government, knowing it was to their advantage to let things get worse in Germany, thus increasing the appeal of Hitler to an ever more miserable people.
Nazi storm troopers dressed in civilian clothes celebrated their electoral victory by smashing in the windows of Jewish shops, restaurants and department stores, an indication of things to come.
Now, for the floundering German democracy, the clock was ticking and time was on Hitler's side.

The Social Security Ponzi Scheme derails
Forbes.com story
The biggest bottle of snake oil ever sold is running out of medicine. You really didn't think it would be there for you did you?
Social "Security" is nothing more than a long term dependency program who's funding is about to run out or more of your money will be confiscated from you and your children to finance the retirements of the elderly.

What is it about the GOP leadership and conservative candidates?
Now we have Jim Bunning, a conservative in Kentucky who's candidacy will die of lack of support.....in the GOP primary, no less. So much for supporting incumbents. Or is it just liberal GOP incumbents that the RNC and party leaders support?
The media and other GOP members are citing the fact that Bunning is having a hard time raising money as a reason to not support him. Yet, by their lack of support, they are keeping people from donating to him in the first place.
One wonders sometimes, does the GOP really want to win? Or is it they've become so effeminate they don't like real men like Bunning?

14%
"According to unofficial results of the Meigs County Board of Elections, only 14 percent of Pomeroy’s registered voters — 164 — visited the polls Tuesday. As of Monday, only eight cast ballots during the early voting period of 30 days prior to the election."
Pomeroy Daily Sentinel story.
Only 14% voted? And there was an income tax proposal on the ballot? Unbelievable.
The income tax did fail. Which proves that it's very important for conservatives to vote all the time, not just during presidential elections.
The gas aggregation program passed by 2 votes, 83-81. I'm not sure I'd trust government to get me a better price on natural gas than I could individually.

Stong words from the editors of the Marietta Register
Charlie Wilson = Karl Marx
"The program will allow an average investment of up to $6,500 per home in energy efficiency upgrades. Funding is only available for families making up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level — around $44,000 a year for a family of four."
Did you know that making more than $44,000 a year makes you rich? Or that making less than $44,000 a year makes you poor?
Our democrat Socialist Congressman Charlie Wilson is making a career of dividing us up based on income.
Here he's touting the benefits of taking money (taxes) from those that make more than $44,000 per year and giving it to folks that make less than $44,000 per year.
Now he's all puffed up about his hand in making folks that earn more than $44,000 per year pay to install insulation in the homes of those that make less than $44,000 per year.
As much as I try, I still can't find where that's allowable in the Constitution. I do find the idea encouraged in the Communist Manifesto, however.

Washington County: Our School campuses are completely safe for armed criminals.
And to prove that our campuses are safe for armed criminals, we'll arrest a boy for having a .22 pistol in his (locked) car (returning from target practice) (completely normal activity in Southeastern Ohio), in the parking lot. And on top of this, the boy is charged with a felony and had to spend the night in jail.
Parkersburg News and Sentinel story
WTAP.com story
So, law enforcement is going to keep our school campuses completely unprotected. We don't want any private citizens defending themselves or others, you see.
You say it's against the "law" to have a firearm on school property(including parking lots). I wonder why the writers of the 2nd amendment didn't mention this restriction when they wrote it? We must be a lot smarter than they were!
We want to keep our school kids completely unprotected from armed criminals, then advertise our idiocy with actions / stories like this.
We read storied about Virginia Tech students wishing some of their classmates were armed to defend them from the mad man that killed 32 unarmed students.
previous post on this subject
Pierre Lemieux.org thoughts on guns and school shootings.... strangely logical from a French Canadian.
This would be a great case for jury nullification....in case anyone in Washington County's jury pool is reading this.

Congressman Charlie Wilson skips out on taxpayers
"While Mr. Miller and the panel's top Republican were there, only Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, Pennsylvania Democrats, came to the hearing. Absent were Democratic Reps. Steven R. Rothman of New Jersey, Lincoln Davis of Tennessee, Charles A. Wilson of Ohio, Alan Grayson of Florida and Bart Gordon of Tennessee. Republican Rep. Ralph M. Hall of Texas also skipped the session, while Rep. Brian P. Bilbray of California dropped by for the final hour of the nearly three-hour hearing."
Washington Times story.
I've got an idea where he might have been.......traveling around the 6th district and throwing this money around....using it as his own campaign money, buying your vote with your own money.
Charlie Wilson being on this sub-committee is akin to the fox in the hen house.

And another lie from Obama / Biden
"Last fall, President Obama and Vice President Biden said they were both working to continue exempting the Delta Queen from 43-year-old federal fire safety standards that are now forcing the historic steamboat to dock, seemingly once and for all in Chattanooga, TN.
That was their presidential campaign message then, in some circles at least, when both Obama and Biden were still in the U.S. Senate. Now, not so much.
In a regional press conference about the administration's first 100 days in office and its priorities going forward, Vice President Biden, when asked, told The Marietta Register that the Delta Queen, a National Historic Landmark, is no longer on the Obama administration's list of things to do.
"We're not going to interfere… I'm a little sentimental about the Delta Queen, but it really is beyond our ability to make that kind of judgment. We don't have standing to make a decision on that," Biden said, changing the topic to the administration's proposal for a high speed rail system."
"We don't have standing to make a decision on that"? Yet the administration has standing to force banks to take tax money, then will not let them repay? They think they have "standing" to force their Marxist ways on our country, yet they say they don't have "standing" to seek a change in a federal rule? Who would have this "standing" if the administration doesn't?

Think locally, again
Marietta has a 1.7% income tax. I can't think of any higher in southeastern Ohio. Not even Leningrad on the Hocking.
While there were Republicans railing against the incessant spending of Congressman Charlie Wilson, President Obama, et al., why were they not railing against the 1.7% income tax? Let's be consistently against excessive taxes anywhere they appear from, Washington, Columbus or Marietta.
If the GOP wants to be against high taxes and spending, that's great (especially after the tax Taft years), but GOP members should set an example at the local level in our finance committees.
Why not eliminate the income tax altogether. Just think of the folks that don't move into Marietta because of the income tax. That reason would be gone. More citizens, more businesses, more income from property tax and sales taxes. Seems like a no brainer......as long as the sales and property taxes stay within reason to fund the basics and the basics alone.
Private enterprise can do wonders if the government doesn't take all it's money.
Biden makes sense...for once
Perhaps it's just me, but Joe Biden has just made perfectly logical sense, I think for the first time in his political life. Where's the "media"? This is the story!
Then you have the "media" double standard. Can you imagine the "media" outrage if GW Bush would have went golfing during this "pandemic"? Mr Obama did, where are the articles / commentaries accusing him of not caring? Not that it matters one bit if the president plays golf or not during this time. What really matters to the "media" is if he seems to "care". Now if it's Obama playing golf....well, it's a given that he "cares". He cares so much that we doesn't want to cause a panic by changing his plans...you see the difference?
On a note along these same double standard in the media lines....
Can you imagine the outrage if President Bush would have encouraged Chrysler in filing bankruptcy?
Yet there is total silence when Obama does the very thing: "Obama expressed optimism for the company's future when it emerges from Chapter 11, calling bankruptcy a "quick" and "efficient" step on its path to "survival."
Do these "newspapers" really wonder why they are going out of business? No one takes them seriously!

Obama Looks to Revive Military Commission System
"The Obama administration is moving toward reviving the military commission system for prosecuting terrorism suspects held at a detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba""Obama previously said the commissions had "been an enormous failure" and during the campaign said he would "reject the Military Commissions Act.""
