Jeanette Moll is right

Jeanette Moll's recent letter to the editor, this one in the Athens News.

She is correct that Notre Dame should not have invited our abortion President to speak, but follow this further and you'll find a vast left wing hypocrisy.

Here we have Obama telling us that we are going to quit being mean to Muslim Terrorists that want to kill us, because it's "immoral".

Yet at the same time he is supporting and promoting abortion here and worldwide with your tax money.

He invites all kinds of sexually confused perverts to the White House "Easter" Egg roll.....but he uses morality as the reason why we can't yell at terrorists who want to slit our throats. (Easter Egg is in quotations because eggs have as much to do with Easter as Santa Claus has with Christmas...nothing)

Silence from the so called media.

How's this for an Attorney General candidate?

Someone that's not afraid to say what he thinks!

Dave Yost, GOP candidate for Attorney General writes this concerning the 2nd Amendment.

Joe Foss couldn't have said it any better.

Someone who knows how to say no

More EnviroNazi Propaganda

Bandmonline.com is the online edition of the weekly student-run newspaper at Muskingum College, the Black & Magenta. Apparently student "reporters" can't dig for facts anymore than full time "reporters".

"story" here

"Meigs County is home to four coal-fired power plants" The real answer is "Meigs County is home to ZERO coal-fired power plants"

Pretty substantial discrepancy.

"A lie told often enough becomes the truth." Vladimir Lenin

"Community members are actively resisting the threat to create up to five more proposed coal-fired plants in the area."

Could be a true statement, however this is more true..... the vast majority of Meigs county citizens support the AMP power plant. All Meigs County elected officials support it as well. A few local citizens are against the power plant, but most opposition is from outside radicals that want no coal burned in the US.

Good Candidates

Morgan County Herald story:

"“I have been to regional meetings around the state. We are going to work together to develop a message we can all talk about. The party is going to have to raise money. Some place along the way we have lost the way to get our message out. We have a responsibility to be the loyal minority. We have to be a party that provides opportunities, ideas, and concepts. We are going to spend a lot of time doing this,” she said."

Jo Ann Davidson, former Speaker of the Ohio House.

I agree with this....somewhat. I wish we'd just have a party that wanted to do what government was supposed to do. The bare essentials and nothing more. Lower our taxes and leave us alone.

With so many on the government handout list in one way or the other, I believe normal government is a thing of the past and socialism is our future.

I also agree that a party has to have good candidates. Dave Yost (Attorney General) and John Kasich (Governor) would both be great office holders.

I'm not sure about Portman. A lot of good folks have had a lot of good things to say about Rob Portman. However, the fact that he could raise cash is always one of the reasons given for strong support. It's a shame that we have to factor in fund raising when deciding which candidate to support. This leaves one with the logical conclusion that there are many good (better?) candidates that are not given the light of day as far as consideration, just because they do not have a fund raising organization. So we are not necessarily choosing the best candidates, we are choosing who we think can beat a democrat. This, of course, is not a bad thing in and of itself.

I just wonder if we would have ever heard of Abraham Lincoln if the voters then picked their candidates solely on their ability to raise money.

Wilson throws more of your cash in the river

Parkersburg News story

My Comments in RED

BELPRE - U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, D-Ohio, discussed using the Ohio River as an asset to assist the area out of the economic recession while in Belpre Thursday afternoon.

"The (Ohio) river is a great asset that we aren't using," (we don't use it? We have barges involved in commerce on it everyday, delivering raw materials to manufacturers) Wilson said. "We have forgotten that the river is what brought us here to begin with and we need to go back to that." (what is he talking about?)

The discussion of the Ohio River began when Mayor Mike Lorentz brought up the topic of the city's riverfront project.

"Everyone believes this will be a stimulus for our city," Lorentz said. (Mike, what is it going to stimulate? How many private sector jobs will it create for the long term?)

The park will include about 1,300 square feet of land on the river side of the park and will have a large boat dock and amphitheater.

The project is being spearheaded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with construction beginning in the next five years to be completed in 18 to 24 months. (We've got the Corps working on nonsense like this when they could be improving our infrastructure)

The roughly $3 million project will be primarily funded through grants, which include $96,000 secured by Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, as well as a $150,000 grant from Voinovich last year. (a grant from Voinovich? How about a grant from the taxpayers?)

"We have had a lot of support for this project," Lorentz said. (from the geese looking for one more spot in Belpre to drop their droppings. The best thing I've heard Mike Lorentz propose in Belpre was to have a goose shoot with the Police Dept supplying the shells. That would be stimulating!)

Wilson said projects such as the Riverfront Park help boost the local economy. (How? Again no details)

"These slowdowns in the economy are a growing experience," (FOR GOVERNMENT) Wilson said. "This is one of the places - Belpre - that we can see strength." (like when Century shut down? or when Nova closed it's doors?)

Wilson said he was impressed with Belpre's recent energy-savings infrastructure project, which included adding 64 photovoltaic solar panels placed on the south-facing roof of the city building.

The panels provide about 1,200 kilowatt hours of energy a month and save the city about $122 a month. (How much did the city government have to spend on these "solar" panels to get this savings? It's not a "savings" until that cost is paid for)

"I am pleased to be in a building that is partially supplied by solar," said Wilson, who is working in Congress to create more eco-friendly energy in Ohio. (we need to dig more coal, not solar pipe dreams)

Wilson said he is working to have Ohio-made solar panels on every building in the state.

"Let the ingenuity be released in Washington County," he said. (lower our taxes and quit putting us into debt and we'll do just fine without your "help")

Wilson stopped in Belpre for about an hour while on a (tax cash throwing) tour of southeastern Ohio, which included Marietta and Pomeroy.

Is there anything more permanent than a "temporary" government program?

Excellent article from the Buckeye Institute about corporate welfare.

What a waste of tax money!

Like we said in a previous post. ... Here it is.

Be sure and scroll down through the comments in this Mareitta Times story. It looks like the more money Charlie Wilson wastes (trying to buy votes with tax money) the angrier the tax payers get. I'm glad to see someone finally taking notice of this disastrous Representative.

Apologies for all the posts about this one subject, but to a blogger, Congressman Charlie Wilson is a gift that keeps on giving.

If Charlie would just treat tax money like his campaign money..

Congressman Charlie Wilson is spending his campaign money like it's his own money, in that he's being very frugal.

"U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson of St. Clairsville, D-6th, raised $66,197 and spent $30,607 during the first three months of the year."

Unlike how he treats your money. Notice the debt clock at the top left of the blog.

Of course another way of looking at it is Charlie Wilson doesn't have to use a lot of his campaign money to run for reelection since he's using your money to buy your vote with all the tax cash he's throwing around the district. Taking money out of your wallet and giving it to other people or organizations that he feels deserve your money more than you.

"And Charlie Wilson Too"

You'd think poor Charlie would be safe in Wheeling; apparently not...

Wheeling Intelligencer story.

"He said it was among the goals of the local tea party that U.S. Rep. Alan Mollohan and U.S. senators Robert Byrd and Jay Rockefeller, all D-W.Va., "collectively listen to us."

Some in the crowd added, "and Charlie Wilson, too," referring to the Democratic congressman who represents the district on the Ohio side of the river."

"In Wheeling, nearly 2,000 residents turned out at the city's Heritage Port for the "Tax Day Tea Party," one of more than 2,000 such events that took place nationwide."

"They feel like they can play God and run a company when none of them has had to make a payroll," he added."

"Many in attendance made note of what they termed "irresponsible spending" by the federal government, and they believed many of their elected officials don't read the spending bills of which they vote in favor."

"This was the case in particular with the $787 billion bank bailout, as members of Congress admitted after its passage that they had not read the bill."

And my favorite quote from the story:

"I think government thinks we're a Robin Hood society where you rob the rich to feed the poor," she said. "But who are the rich? The government thinks we are."

Charlie Wilson is in so deep in this bailout / stimulus / omnibus / budget bill etc, etc...all he can do now is travel around the district throwing your money around like Robin in the Hood.

According to the Marietta Times, "

"WILSON PLANS ARMORY ANNOUNCEMENT THURSDAY:

Congressman Charlie Wilson, D-Ohio, plans a major announcement Thursday about the Marietta National Guard Armory and federal transit funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The announcement is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wilson's local office at 258 Front St., across the street from the armory."

If these folks want to protest, they need to show up at this announcement and protest. Here's our representative that has voted for every deficit spending bill Obama has asked for.

Charlie Wilson is boasting of a "major announcement" upcoming in Marietta. We all know he's going to waste more of our tax money by throwing it at the old armory building by trying to transform it into some sort of new utopia on the Muskingum....using your tax money of course.

Here's the previous post about the armory plans.

The Marietta Times got one thing right, even if it was by accident. Notice how they put Charlie Pork Belly Wilson's "announcement...announcement directly under the story about the tax protesters?

Dumb Laws

Hysterical media + uninformed public + pandering politicians = Laws with unintended consequences.

Marietta Register story about the new asbestos hype, lead.

This law threatens to close local thrift stores just when people need to find inexpensive items due to hard times (mostly due to high taxes in Ohio).

p.s. the public is uninformed because they listen to the hysterical, one sided media.

By the way, you've probably already guessed it, our Congressman Charlie Wilson was a co-sponsor to this dumb law.

This guy is great for a blogger, but a disaster for the conservative 6th district.

What can I do? Get involved now!

I was approached by a friend on the street about 7 days before the last election. He asked me "what can I do?" I asked him what he was talking about. He said "for the election, of course". I told him the election was already over as it started a year ago.

Conservatives that don't like how our state / country is headed need to get involved now, not 7 days before an election.

Why be involved so early, you ask? Well,
  • as you saw from the previous post, the gambling pimps are not waiting until 7 days before an election to start their campaign to legalize more gambling in Ohio.
  • ACORN (Jennifer Brunner and Obama's enablers) have not stopped campaigning, as they are heavily involved in conducting our census. Yes you heard that right.
Here's the conservative's conundrum. We want to vote and be left alone until the next election. We are happily oblivious to the shenanigans that the left is subverting our state to. We go to the polls and are surprised at some of the issues on the ballot.

We go to work everyday and spend time taking care of our families and neighbors, we trust our Representatives to do the right thing and don't have time to pester them about issues.

The leftist is completely opposite. They don't have jobs. If they do have so called jobs, they are in government. Their life's work is to lobby government for more government. This means more job security for them. All the while sucking your money and freedom away from you to support their Marxist form of government they are slowly and patiently trying to install. (see Obama and the bank bailouts)

Did you know the next election is less than a month away? It's May 5th. Do you know what's on the ballot? Don't trust the "news" papers to tell you. You can call your local board of elections and get a list of offices, candidates and issues so you'll be prepared before you vote.

Here you can find info on the proposed issues in Pomeroy: a new income tax and a Proposed Gas Aggregation.
Here you can read about Warren School District's proposed tax levy

I know this is a ramble, but we need to get involved now. I'll give you some ideas where / how to get involved in...in the next post on this subject.

previous post on "what can I do? Vote!"

Ballot Board OKs Ohio casinos petition

Dispatch story

"The Ohio Jobs and Growth Plan would place one casino each in the down towns of Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Toledo."

Don't you love these titles?

Economic Recovery Act = Deficit Creation Act

Social Security = Social Insecurity

Evidence Based Education = No Evidence of where the plan originated from

Ohio Jobs and Growth Plan = Casino Gambling in Ohio or the Transfer of dollars from poor to rich plan

We do not need additional gambling in Ohio. Yes, it's completely hypocritical for the state of Ohio to be against gambling when we run a lottery...another dumb idea....

Even so, that's no reason to support more of this vice. Remember when gambling was called a Vice?

"Proponents say the casinos would generate $1.8 billion in annual revenue". Where do you think this "revenue" will come from? It comes from your pocket book when you gamble. If you really want to give your money away, give it to your local Church or School. Give it to your neighbor. It would be more rewarding in the end.

Casinos are in business to make money. The house doesn't lose in the end.

Here are some links to various state gambling addiction websites. Oh, I forgot, gambling is a "victimless" crime....well, it used to be a crime.

California
Washington state
Minnesota
National Council on Problem Gambling
Oregon

I could go on and on, you get the picture. If gambling is such a god-send, why do we need to fund special programs to combat compulsive gambling and the vices that go with it?

Just Ohio

"Ohio wants to spend $57 million in federal stimulus money on highway projects that won't begin for years, an unusual strategy for money that President Barack Obama said should be used to give the economy an immediate job-creating jolt."

Boston Globe story here.

Representative asks for $8 million in earmarks

Representative asks for $8 million in earmarks

"The largest amount requested for OU was $2.6 million for the Distributed Power from Wastewater project, according to Wilson's Web site. The money would help "by creating technology that will make military base camps more self-sufficient and more energy efficient." "

Fuel out of urine.

I'm not kidding. See this "press release" on his website. We'll see how long they keep this link up now that people will be looking at it. (Remember, he took his debt clock off his website after we mentioned the irony of him voting to increase the deficit (many times) yet he was highlighting how fast the debt was growing?)

"Wilson chose the nine OU proposals to recommend to the House Appropriations Committee because they fulfilled his personal guidelines. A project must encourage economic development, create employment and foster one of Wilsons's key priorities: health care, energy independence and education, a representative from Wilson's office said. "

I think his number 1 "guideline" (I found that funny too) is projects that waste millions of taxpayers money, but have titles that sound palatable. This way he can come back to the district with his table scraps and beat his chest like he's really done us a great favor by increasing our deficit just so he can get reelected.

Vietnam POW to share experiences with local residents

A retired Air Force officer who spent six years in Vietnam’s infamous “Hanoi Hilton” prison
camp will talk about this life-changing experience – and the lessons it taught him about
himself – on Thursday, April 9 at the McDonough Auditorium, Marietta College, hosted by the McDonough Center for Leadership and Business.

“None know better than the combat veterans that the cost of freedom is high, but the blessings
of liberty are priceless,” says Lt. Col. Barry Bridger, an F-4 pilot who was shot down over
North Vietnam.

Barry Bridger’s thought-provoking presentation will focus on how he and his fellow POWs worked together to survive their years of incarceration. In this story of survival, bravery, teamwork and patriotism, Barry will share how the POW experience has helped him assess what is truly important in his life.

Jimmy Carter all over again

Let's see, North Korea successfully launches test missiles after they successfully detonated a nuclear bomb. Mr Obama's response? Reduce our funding for our successful missile defense program.

Isn't this akin to a police officer, when he realizes that someone is shooting at him, taking off his bullet proof vest?

Where's Obama's outrage now?

Fannie, Freddie worker bonuses total $210M

Is it because Freddie and Fannie are governmental creatures and AIG was a private enterprise?

Since Obama is a Marxist, this makes perfect sense. He hates privately owned businesses and thinks they should all be nationalized.

Sort of sounds like Bolshevism, doesn't it? Come to think of it, we haven't heard or seen where Congressman Charlie Wilson is expressing outrage over these bonuses, like he did over the AIG bonuses....even though he voted to allow the AIG bonuses in the first place.

Poverty "focus groups"

Government speak for pretending to care what you have to say.

Here's a recent story on this subject from the Pomeroy Daily Sentinel.

If Mr Strickland really wanted to reduce poverty in Ohio, he'd propose lowering our taxes.

See previous posts here and here about our outrageous taxes.

Another idea would be to eliminate the so called minimum wage. If people want to work for a lower wage, why should we keep them from doing that? Everyone knows that the so called minimum wage creates unemployment. It also forces employers to buy machines rather than employ people because the minimum wage law prices low skilled workers out of the job market.

Obama the socialist

Did you know that there were banks that were forced to take bailout money?

Did you know that some banks are not allowed to repay the bailout money?

AFA's take on Charlie Wilson's deficit spending votes

AFA's website

"Congress and President Obama just don't get it! The new $3.6 trillion budget includes a deficit of $1.2 trillion. One third of the budget is deficit spending, money we don’t have! That is on top of the $12 trillion we already owe.

How much is $1 trillion? Consider this: A million seconds is 11.5 days. A billion seconds is 32 years. A trillion seconds is 32,000 years. We must strongly oppose the move to make ours a socialist country.

This reckless spending is a moral issue. We are passing on to our grandchildren a debt that we created. Every man, woman and child in the country already owes $35,000, and we are piling more debt on them. We are robbing them of their right to enjoy the American Dream."

Amen!!!

Congressman Charlie Wilson chooses to put you further into debt

Well, we've got an answer to our previous post question.

Here's his statement explaining putting you and your children deeper into debt, my comments in red:

"Dear Friends,

Yesterday I voted in favor of a budget that serves as a long term economic plan that will get our economy working again and put the country on a path toward renewed prosperity. (How, exactly, is borrowing more and more money going to do this?) The bill passed the House 233-196.

It's going to take time and tough choices to turn our economy around. (every time you vote to borrow more money, the more time it will take to "turn our economy around") The budget the House passed today puts us on the path to recovery by investing in the priorities like healthcare, energy and education. These are areas that will spur economic growth and lead to long tem sustainable prosperity. (right)

The House-passed long term budget blueprint will cut the deficit nearly two-thirds by 2013. ( a wild eyed guess in any one's book, please explain how borrowing more money now helps our debt? Typical Orwellian doublespeak. Sounds like a gambler trying to get his losings back. After you voted to increase the deficit to it's all time high, then claim you can cut it later....even then it'll be higher than it ever has been in history) It cuts taxes for middle class families by $1.5 trillion. It will create jobs and grow our economy with targeted investments and reforms in healthcare, energy and education while reducing non-defense discretionary spending to its lowest level in nearly half a century. This long term economic plan ushers in a new era of honesty in budgeting (you've got to be kidding) by fully accounting for known expenses like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that previous administrations left out in order to make the deficit look smaller. To bring change and restore integrity to Washington, this budget puts an unprecedented effort into rooting out waste, fraud and abuse in government spending. (we could help with the waste bit of this by getting you out of Washington)

The Republican budget would have cut healthcare for the neediest, (not true) privatized Medicare, (and this is a bad thing?, even though the statement itself is not true) and offered our wealthiest citizens another tax cut. (again, not true. It would have extended the tax cuts from 2001 and 2003. Real tax cuts for everyone that paid taxes) We've tried those failed policies for the last eight years and here we are today in the worst economic crisis we've seen since the Great Depression. (thanks to democrats and their protection of Fannie and Freddie Mae from any oversight, the democrats caused this mess...now they want to "fix" it)

President Obama inherited a record Republican deficit from the Bush Administration, which began with a $5.6 trillion surplus. The national debt is now double what it was when Bush first took office, wages are flat and unemployment is skyrocketing. (View this link for an explanation on what Charlie is trying to confuse you about, he's in this deficit spending up to his neck and blaming Bush for making Congressman Charlie Wilson vote to put our kids into debt does not wash. One thing that is clear, Charlie Wilson is a 100% socialist. He is no conservative as he claims when he's campaigning.)

I believe the House-passed economic plan takes the necessary steps to dig our economy out of the hole the Bush Administration dug, drastically cut the deficit, and stimulate growth that helps all of us.

(blaming Bush when the deficit has increased in the last 3 months more than it did during Bush's 8 years doesn't make sense)

(claiming he's voting to "drastically cut the deficit" when he's in fact voting to drastically increase the deficit....does he really think we are this stupid???)

Sincerely,

Charlie Wilson
Member of Congress (hopefully, not for long)
Ohio's Sixth District"

Congressman Charlie Wilson's Debt Clock

Since Congressman Charlie Wilson removed the National Debt Clock from his website, we thought we'd help by keeping it on our homepage.

He's had a hand in the increasing national debt by voting for and supporting all of President Obama's spending sprees.

Charlie Wilson is no conservative.

EnviroNavis VIII

More of the same. Meigs county has an unemployment rate of 15% and these people want to keep it that way.

Pomeroy Daily Sentinel story

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Which budget do you think Congressman Charlie Wilson will vote for?

The Obama Budget: Spending, Taxes, and Doubling the National Debt?

or the only conservative alternative:

The House Republican Budget that would Confront Hard Choices and Rein in Budget Deficits.

Charlie Wilson has voted for all of Obama's deficit spending and debt increasing bills. He has a real alternative this time. I'll bet he follows the strange logic of voting to borrow ourselves out of debt again.

I noticed that Charlie Wilson's website no longer has the "debt clock" on it. I'd have taken it off if I were him also, as he had a lot to do with why it's climbing about $1,000,000 per minute!

I did notice a link to the "blue dog conservative democrat" website on his site. (If Charlie Wilson is a conservative, Ronald Reagan was a Marxist) On their site they still have the debt clock. Be sure and look at it adding up all the time and remember that Charlie Wilson voted for every deficit spending bill President Obama has proposed yet.

There's no reason to believe he'll vote against this massive spending bill either.
