Term limits, what's the point?

Are we, the voters admitting that we don't have enough judgment to pick our own Representatives, Senators and Governor?

We intentional limit our own choices (with term limits) for some reason. Why wouldn't we want to have a choice instead of arbitrarily throwing out good representatives because we have "term limits"?

It's another way of saying we don't trust ourselves to make the correct choice. Or we are admitting that we don't pay enough attention to our representatives to make a choice. In this case you shouldn't be voting anyway.

There are ways to get around the term limits any way. Here we have John Carey running for State Representative again. He was once a State rep, then ran for State Senate.....has term limited out and is running for State Representative again. Who is running for his State Senate seat? The current State Representative of the same district that Carey is now running for.

So, term limits don't really work. What they do is limit the voter's choices. Term limits need to go.

By the way, Carey is a great Mayor / Representative / Senator / Representative. I'm happy he's able to stay in the legislature....as he will be elected....or is it re-elected?
